March Madness

We wouldn't be Leavitt's if we didn't post something about March Madness. Yes even way down here in the Caribbean it rules our lives. Cort is currently in first place in the 8th Annual Curry Leavitt Group. I am in humble 12th, but I'm just fine with that since I was in last place just a little while ago. HAPPY WATCHING!

EASTER CELEBRATION

This was the kickoff of a three day Easter celebration.  For Friday play group we got together at Kristin's house to dye eggs, make cinnamon rolls and make treat bags for the egg hunt the next day.  The moms dyed the eggs while the boys played and kept asking when they would be done.  Our eggs are brown here but surprisingly dyed really well.
Once our eggs were dry the boys had so much fun putting stickers on them.  Only a few were cracked which I feel is a small miracle with three boys. You could tell that they felt like such big kids.

Grab a Root

That is what I call this hike.  It is named after it's village but I can't pronounce it or spell it so it is Grab A Root.
Why grab a root you may ask.  . . because that was the instructions by our tour guide, Theo.  He said to hold the rope, grab a root and start heading down the cliff.  Halfway down my legs were shaking like crazy.  I think my favorite saying that day was "seriously".  Poor Theo every time he told me to do something or try to reach for something my reaction was "seriously?".
Look closely at the top of the picture.  That would be me with the bright red backpack.  I'm grateful I had that thing at least people could see me and tell me where to step.  Granted every once and awhile I would have to shimmy a little bit to make it through some roots or trees but I made it.
YEA, I made it to the bottom and am enjoying some fresh coconut.  My first time trying it, that is why there is a picture.  I liked it.
Ok, this is what I worked so hard to see a fresh waterfall that falls into the Atlantic Ocean.  Normally you can stand on the rock and take a picture, but the ocean was really rough that day. The climb back up was a lot of fun and much easier.   After I had finished the hike I felt like I could conquer the world after a quick nap.

THE BOYS

Metz, Drake and Luke.  Each mom takes play group once every three weeks and we are working on the alphabet.  My last one was J.  I was very impressed with myself this time so I had to take a picture.  They made juice, jello jigglers in the form of a J, sang the "monkey's JUMPING on the bed" and learned about animals in the Jungle.  They are a rowdy bunch but I'm sure glad they are here.  Drake leaves on April 15th and I'm not sure what Metz and I will do.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

I know this is a month late but better late than never right?!?! And don't mind all the food in the background we had just gotten our barrel from Miami and I hadn't found a place for everything yet.
While Metz was napping I made some heart sugar cookies and frosting. When Metz woke up I gave him an apron and just let him go for it.
Frosting the cookies. He stood on his favorite chair and got to work. He loved the apron and he asks to wear it every time we cook.
Metz actually got a few cookies frosted before he tried the frosting. After trying it I had a hard time getting him to put it on the cookies.
He got a plate full done and waited in his apron coloring the heart valentines. Metz was so excited that when Cort walked in the door he lifted the plate to hand it to Cort and dropped the cookies all over the floor. Cort thought it was really cute and sweet. We had an excellent Valentine's Day

EEEEWWWW

Yes people say it with me . . . EEEEWWWW. This is a centipede. This centipede was right in front of our door when Cort came home from studying one night. Luckily he saw it before he opened the door and did this to it . . .
YEA, dead centipede. He had me throw him a tennis shoe and he stepped on it til it looked like this. We both have been bit by one in our bed and hate them. Sadly, they are all over the island and we see (and kill) them way too often. I will not miss them when we leave.

RAINY DAY

Metz refused to get into his stroller (which I love) even though it was pouring rain. So he got an umbrella. Since we don't have a child umbrella he got the great big adult umbrella which made too cute of a picture for me to pass up. Don't worry it stopped raining about 5 minutes later. We were still soaked. Tropical rain storm got to love'em.
